A fair question from any driver new to Intra: if I bid on a trip and don't win it, or a trip I'm on gets cancelled, does that cost me anything — a fee, a strike, a mark against my account? Here's a straight answer, because the honest version is simpler than most apps' terms and conditions make it sound.
There is no fee for anything, ever
Intra takes no commission on any trip, from any driver, at any time. That's not a promotional rate or an introductory offer — there is no mechanism in the app that takes a cut of a fare at all. What a rider pays you in cash at the end of a trip is the full amount, every time.
Because there's no fee system in the first place, there's also no cancellation fee, no bidding fee, and nothing deducted if a trip you're involved in falls through. You can't be charged for something the app was never built to charge for.
Bidding is free and untracked
Sending an offer on a trip costs you nothing and carries no risk. If a rider picks a different driver's bid, nothing happens to your account — there's no record of "lost" bids, no score that goes down, nothing visible to you or anyone else. The only outcome of a bid you don't win is that you didn't get that particular trip. Bid on anything that looks plausible; there's no reason to hold back.
What actually matters: showing up for a trip you accepted
The one thing that does matter is what happens after a rider accepts your offer. At that point you're the only driver on the trip, and the rider is counting on you to arrive.
If a driver accepts a trip and then simply never shows up — no movement toward the pickup, no contact, nothing for 30 minutes — the app automatically cancels that assignment and reopens the trip for other nearby drivers to bid on. That's not a punishment system so much as basic fairness to the rider, who otherwise has no way to know their trip is dead and start again.
Where it does start to affect you: if that happens three times in a row — accept, then never show — new trip requests stop reaching you first. You're not blocked, and one bad night (phone died, emergency came up, whatever) won't flag you. But a repeated pattern of accepting and vanishing means the app starts giving other drivers first look at new requests, specifically to protect riders from waiting on someone who's shown a pattern of not arriving.
The fix is simple and entirely in your control: don't accept a trip you're not actually going to do. If you bid and win but something comes up before you get there, cancelling honestly and promptly is always better than leaving the rider hanging — and costs you nothing either.
In short
- Bidding: free, unlimited, untracked.
- Losing a bid to another driver: no effect on your account.
- Accepting a trip and completing it (or cancelling honestly if you can't): the only thing that matters.
- Accepting and repeatedly not showing up: the only thing that works against you.
Everything else — pricing, which trips to bid on, when to drive — is entirely your call.
